I like Jim Kaat’s take on pitch counts these days. Whatever happened to how important the complete game was? Who cares about pitch count if you cannot win a game. These days too many stats get in the way of having fun at the ballpark and too much on numbers. I like Kaat’s way of thinking when it comes to being ready for extra innings. Having to keep your arm in shape before, during and after games. The only way to keep the arm in shape, is exocise it after a nine inning game, every day, to get ready for extra inning game and hopefully win it! Not pitch count.
